SUPER STARS - great work!
When Jesus, the 'Word of God', had made the stars, he was very satisfied with them - he liked them a lot!
JESUS - THE STAR!
Jesus has many names - because long ago names were used to describe what a person was like - just as Mr Happy in the Mister Men books really is happy! One of Jesus' names is a 'Morning Star':
I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches.

A STAR MARKED HIS BIRTH
Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.
The star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.

DECORATE WITH LIGHTS
- SPARKLING STAIRCASE
Lay a strip of rope lights down the length of the staircase (anchored securely just above the skirting board). Plug them in upstairs, so you can go to bed lit by these magical lights! (And come downstairs with bit of a sparkle on these dark mornings!)
- STAR-MARKED BEDROOM
Put a lighted star over your childrens' bedroom door. Turn it on every night before bed in the run up to Christmas - it will remind them that a star stayed over Jesus' first bedroom.
- CHRISTMAS CANDLE-CAKE
Make a birthday cake for Jesus at Christmas time and sing "Happy Birthday to You" - to Jesus! A numeral candle (zero) would be useful, to signify the newly born baby not yet 1 year old. For older children a figure eight candle laid on its side to imitate an infinity sign could illustrate the point that God is eternal - and that his incarnation in a human body was a special event for a special reason. Whatever the ages of the children it, giving everyone a turn at blowing out the candle always goes down well!

- STAR-LIT CEILINGS
Why not ditch the paper chains and cover your ceilings with fairy lights instead?
- STAR SHAPED LIGHTS
Cut out a star shaped, painted plywood cut-out or bend wire (eg. a coathanger) into shape. Wrap Christmas Tree lights around the shape. Tap in cable clips to secure the cable along the edge of the wooden frame, or use wire twists around a wire frame. Make sure the cable isn't coiled (so don't wrap the same shape several times), because it could overheat when switched on. Similarly, any extra decorations you add should not be a fire hazard.
